About Fayre Winds

Fayre Winds and its sister organization, Two Fayre Ladies, support the Kearney Renaissance Faire and Fair Oaks Tudor Fayre.
The people behind this work have kept it going for nearly three decades.
Fayre Winds provides the nonprofit structure for educational and community work carried forward by people whose service reaches back much farther than the paperwork does.
Fayre Winds supports an enormous community of performers that show up and re-create the time period of King Henry VIII, and Queen Elizabeth.
These 'Guilds' embody, preserve and present our collective heritage. They have several hundred members.
The 'Guilds' maintain their own costuming and period camping infrastructure. Fayre would not be the same without them.
In 2025, School Day welcomed about 700 students, along with a growing homeschool community. Before each public Faire, students spend a day learning by doing it in a nurturing environment that can't be found anywhere else.
They visit the royal court, learn period crafts, and receive complimentary Faire tickets to bring their families back.

Students are typically shown a Joust and allowed to interact with the weapons that changed the War of the 1400-1700’s- Trebuchet and Ballista, and introduced to Blacksmithing.
This plus the experience at court generates excitement that is then used to fuel learning. With instruction of things like Speech of the time period (Including take home worksheets), and how to tell time by a Tree’s shadow.
They are then, regardless of income, given tickets to attend the Fayre, providing access (for those of lower income) and an invitation (for all) to strengthen their family connections.
