About Fayre Winds
Historical Outreach- Renaissance Fair
Fayre Winds has sponsored the Kearney Renaissance Faire and the Fair Oaks Tudor Fayre for the past 25 years and we will continue to do so.
Fayre Winds supports a community of several hundred performers that show up
and re-create the time period of King Henry VIII and moving to Queen Elizabeth. These 'Guilds' embody, preserve and present our collective heritage
Education- School Day
In 2025 we were able to reached 1,000 Students, with supplementary educational curriculum.
Before each event we hold a school day for students, allowing them to touch and make things, in a setting that is uniquely immersive.
Students are introduced to Blacksmithing and allowed to interact with the weapons that changed the War of the 1400-1700’s- Trebuchet and Ballista.
The excitement this generates is then leveraged for more classic instruction with, taking home worksheets for Speech of the time periods, and how to tell time by a Tree’s shadow.
They are then, regardless of income, given tickets to attend the Fayre, providing access (for those of lower income) and an invitation (for all) to strengthen their family connections.
